Abutment compatibility list?
I have been receiving new patients who have implants installed by other dentists in other countries. I find it very difficult to restore many of these cases, as I am not familiar with the implant brand. Is there a source that I can go to determine what components will be compatible with the implants and abutments? What is the best way to deal with this situation?

There are a lot if knock off companies that provide this and the docs who restore will be sure to post this. I just have this advice, be very careful and have your patient sign a waiver since you don't know how these were placed and you could get burned since you are the last dds to touch the case if it fails. Don't give any guarentees, you don't know who placed the implants without a restorative plan and all the patient knows is that you restored the case. Good luck and charge according to the risk. Yes restoring doctors are often put into precarious positions but I see that most docs truly want to help their patients. I get this sometimes when I have to redo a bone graft from a well meaning referring dds. And I see this when an implant surgeon places an implant in a poor position and leaves the restoring doc with a headache. We try to do our best and I see the difficult situations that the generalist inherits . Thank you for the compliment and "let's be careful out there!"

There is a solution for that. It is the G-Cuff. With G-Cuff you take impression directly from the abutment level. There is no need for transfers or impression copings. Very often the patient already have abutment attached to the implant so you can use it as it is or or improve it in the cervical area. With G-Cuff you can take impression even without knowing the brand of the system. You can take PVS impression or digital with any scanner.
