Broken abutment in Ankylos: how to retrieve?
I installed an Ankylos 4.5mm diameter implant 3-years prior in a 65-year old healthy female in #19 site [mandibular left first molar; 36]. The patient presented recently with the chief complaint of “loose crown”. On examination I found that the abutment had fractured just coronal to the Morse taper connection. I cannot remove the rest of the abutment. Any recommendations on how I could do this or what else I can do?

These was also a thread on this topic in 2010, but the link that I left was removed for some reason. if you google : Abutment Fractures with Ankylos Implant System? it should be the second from the top.

this has happened to me twice. And the only way to remove it is to get the kit off the Rep. Then book the patient in when you can shut your doors and have no more patients. As it sometimes is very time consuming. Good luck.
