Buccal augmentation: what would you do?

Case Posted by: Surgical Master
Case By: Dr. Ziv Simon In this one-stage surgery case, the implant is in good position, and integrated. However, it needs some buccal augmentation. We have options and different timing or we can simply leave it as is. It’s a matter of preference and also depends on what the patient allows you to do. What would you do in this situation?

Looks fine to me.. As long as you have attached gingivae and some buccal bone, call it a day. It is not
an esthetic consideration.

Agree. That's what I did.

Amen to that Dr. Sweet. This view looks very acceptable. If you felt your buccal plate was fully intact, why put the patient through an additional procedure? Apply KISS

More than agree. Just brought up to discuss options in case we wanted to do something

Ziv can you post a photo from the side to see the height of the connective tissue?

augmentation only for aesthetic reasons...better to have addressed it during implant placement...Go Warriors

Only if really needed suggest connective tissue graft to bulk up the facial, provided the facial bone is OK and a bone graft is not needed.
