Fosamax Class Action Lawsuit Filed
Another Class Action lawsuit is underway in the world of pharmaceuticals with negative side effects. Fosamax is an osteoporosis drug prescribed to treat patients with bone loss. It works, but it’s been found to cause deformities in the jaw.
Attorney J. Marshall Hughes says: "And in the jaw it causes what they say is dead jaw. It actually eats away the bone in the jaw."
The law offices of Hughes and Coleman represent some clients who have suffered from the dead jaw. Hughes does not deny Fosamax has helped many people. Hughes says: "The problem that the drug manufacturers have with these drugs that are causing side effects and problems is that they know about the side effects and problems they don’t tell people."
Once the damage is done it’s irreversible. That’s why people who use Fosamax should contact their doctor or dentist if they notice and problems with their jaw. The problem has to be caught quickly and dealt with. Doctors who prescribe the drug stand behind its effectiveness. A United Press International poll found more than 2,400 patients who were taking the injected form of bisphosphonate had suffered bone damage to their jaws since 2001.
