Identify Implant in the #27 Area?

Dr. V. asks:

This patient presented to my office with implant fixtures placed 15 years ago. I need to identify the implant fixtures so I can restore the case. The implant in the maxillary molar areas are Screwvent 3.7mm diameter. The implants in the #8 area [maxillary right central incisor; 11] and #23 area [mandibular left lateral incisor; 32] are Straumann ITI. I have not been able to identify the implant in the #27 area [mandibular left canine; 43]. Can anybody identify this implant?

You cannot tell from this radiograph whether this is an internal hex or external hex, or what the connection is.From a panorex it is also impossible to guess the exact diameter and the length of the implant, as there is a 25% distortion factor. The simplest way to know for sure is to unscrew the crown, and measure the diameter of the screw, the pitch of the screw, and look directly at the top of the implant with magnification, as well as the inside of the crown. If you are an experienced practitioner, look in your armentarium of parts, and failed implants and see what fits the piece you have removed. Gerald Rudick dds Montreal, Canada

According to the prosthetic design you planned to whether to add or not AS PREFERABLE. For immediate restoration you can perform by custom made one through a 3D and form a abutment accordingly.

Take a periapical and then go to whatimplantisthat?.com Sometimes your lab can help too. I work with Town & Country dental lab in New York and they helped me through a similar case.
