IPS e.max Press Abutment: What is Your Opinion?

IPS e.max Press Abutment
Have any of you used lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (LS2) from Ivoclar Vivadent in your practice? Â What is your opinion? Â Ivoclar Vivadent introduced IPS e.max Press abutment solutions. Â It turned out that there are some independent labs already fabricating them with live cases. Â If you’re one of the practices who has placed IPS e.max Press abutment, what kind of results have you had? Have you had any problems with early fracture in function?

Editor’s Note: IPS e.max Press allows fabrication of implant-supported hybrid restorations – by combining a titanium base (Ti base) with the lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (LS2). Two options are available: hybrid abutments and hybrid abutment crowns. Two of the primary benefits of this solution, are supposedly: 1. High, lasting esthetics, also in cases of gingiva recession, thanks to tooth-coloured hybrid abutments, and 2. Hybrid abutment crowns (two-in-one) for function, efficiency and access to the screw at any time.

I use cerec 3 to fabricate ceramic crowns on implants. I suggest to use standart abutments for e.max, in some cases i had fractures when i used Cad-cam abutments or Ti-base. But its easy to replace them.
