Fractured Leader Italia implants: thoughts?

Dear colleague from Spain I have the same bad experience with two TIxos internal hexagon implants from Leader Italia.The implant position was in 21,22 and 26 with a cement -retained metal -porcelain bridge.Three years later,my patient came to my office with complaints because of mobility of the restoration.The -x ray examination revealed that the broken implants were in the position of 22 and 26.The fracture line was at the same level of the apical level of the prosthetic screw.There was no evidence of strong chewing habits or bruxism.As you can supposed , the cost of the new implants and the prosthetic restoration was mine.. Until now I have the fear of the recurrence because I have finished a lot of cases with Tixos implants from Leader

I have completed an in vitro research project on this issue. We found that implants can fracture at the cervical when loaded with more than 250 N in an off axial direction. This was also found in proprietary research by 3-I, poster presented at the AO meeting. It is a good idea to measure a pts bite force with pressure indicators from TekScan in South Boston, Mass. USA. This information is helpful in treatment planning.

1) Were machined components used ? 2) Don´t forget , even when the metal try-in in 2-dimensions looks great on radiograph , after firing porcelain , we have distortion . Southern Implants have passive abutments . 3) In case of high bite force keep the occlusal table narrower and decrease the inclined planes of the cusps .
