All-On-4 Implants: Cost and Risk Profile?

I’ve been reading about All-on-4. Is ALL-ON-4 the latest technique in the dental implant field? How long has it been around for? Is the cost less and the procedure lower risk than traditional implants?

Then “All-on-4” dental implant procedure has been around since the early 90’s. However, it’s only in recent years, that enough long term data has been collected showing the success of the technique. Therefore, the All on 4 procedure is only now gaining popularity in the US. Typically All on 4 does cost less than alternative techniques, primarily because you need less implants and almost always avoid bone grafting or multiple procedures. With the All on 4, there is certainly less risk to the sinus in the upper jaw and the nerve in the lower jaw because the implants are intended to be directed away from these structures. However the risks are similar to “traditional implant” techniques as far as possible prolonged bleeding, infection, or loss of an implant.I hope this helps!
