Treatment for early dental implant infection?

How should an early dental implant infection, that occurred less than one month after placement, be treated? Should an implant which becomes infected within one month after placement (not restored, loaded or osseointegrated) be removed or treated and, if treated, how so?

Keep in mind that an implant is a foreign body and an antibiotic will not be distributed to the implant surface by the vascular system. Find exactly where the infection is and debride the site and detoxify the surface if possible and graft with barrier. Primary closure would be best. Use a stent if possible to avoid sutures. And if you have to suture use PTFE made by Cytoplast I believe studies show (and I can't cite one right now DrG) that they are the least bacterial wicking of all the current sutures. I love them as they tie very well and low bacterial wicking
