Restoration of a Grafted Maxilla: Seperate Implants with Connectors Easier to Maintain?

For a case that has had significant bone grafting prior to implant placement, do you find separate implants with individual connectors easier to maintain in the long run? There seems to be a lot of bone loss long term on cases with major bone grafting, and i find that splinting all the implants with a bar makes it complicated if one implant fails? I don’t know if the implant success in these cases are better being splinted though.

If it's heavily augmented then cleanness is not as important load sharing. In this case splint them. Load is shared and detrimental lateral forces are minimized compared to free standing. My opinion. Saves you chair time as there are few/none interproximal areas to worry about. Recall on cleaning, that should be fine. Most peeps don't clean anyway, don't worry about cleaniness so much

Great attitude! I guess the patient education part of your practice is a bit weak. Bv
